Leake Wraps up Auction Year in Dallas

Leake Auction Company completed their auction year, November 18 through 20 with a successful sale in Dallas Market Hall. The three-day auction featured 585 lots on two turntables, totaling $7.2 million in sales with 66 percent sold. When the final hammer fell on Sunday, the top seller was a beautiful, 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 KK at $212,850 with buyer’s premium.

Buyers and sellers were treated to a party Thursday evening at Gas Monkey Garage, hosted by Richard Rawlings. Guests had the opportunity to tour the entire garage, check out the cars and enjoy tacos. On Friday, it was standing room only as Rawlings sold three vehicles from his collection with the crew from Fast N’ Loud filming all of the action.

“We had a great weekend in Dallas,” said Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. “This was one of the best line-ups we have presented in Dallas. We a had a nice variety of sports and exotics, muscle and customs as well as high line cars. There was something for every car enthusiast in this sale.”

Sevenoaks continued, “2016 was a very good year for us, selling over 1,600 vehicles. Next year we kick off our 45th year of excellence in the auction business with Oklahoma City, February 24, 25 and 26. The OKC Fairgrounds has completed construction of the Bennett Building. We are thrilled to have a larger, brand new building to showcase all of the cars.”
