Leake Auction Company shattered previous OKC auction records over the weekend, hitting $12.5 million in sales with 82 percent of the vehicles sold. Held in the Cox Pavilion on the OKC Fairgrounds, February 19-21, crowds had the opportunity to see 551 vehicles cross the two-lane auction block. At the conclusion of the three-day sale, a 2005 Ford GT was the top seller at $303,600 with the buyer’s premium included.

With 40 Corvettes and 60 additional vehicles from the collection offered without reserve, bidding wars ensued. With much of the spotlight on the Falbo Collection, the auction garnered a lot of international attention. Bidders came from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Other top sellers with the buyer’s premium included were:
- 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L89 at $183,700

“We knocked it out of the park with the Falbo Collection,” stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. “By bringing in large car collections like this, we are taking our auctions to a new level. In doing so, we are attracting a larger buyer base not only in the United States but also internationally.”
Attendees were among the first to learn of Leake’s new auction, slated for September 9-10 at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. “Adding another auction to our line-up has been in the works for quite some time,” Sevenoaks added. “When the call came in from MotorCity Casino Hotel, we had a good feeling that this was the one. We are looking forward to bringing a new car auction to Detroit.”
