1999 Banner Year for Tulsa Collector Car Auction

June 30, 1999

The sales results are in for the 27th Annual Leak Car Auction in Tulsa and the results show that the collector car market is stronger than ever. Collectors and enthusiasts from across the U.S. and foreign countries attend this annual event, which is one of the nation's top automotive events. With 613 lots (including 24 reruns) crossing the auction turntable, this 3 day event saw total sales of over $4.6 million, with total bids in excess of $8.5 million.

Owner Richard Sevenoaks said, "With 64% of cars selling overall, and Sunday's whopping sales of 73%, anyone who wanted to sell their car had plenty of buyers." Over 12,000 people attend this annual event.

The lowest priced car was a 1982 Mercury Grand Marquis which fetched $450.
