Classic Cars Make a Big Splash at The Leake Tulsa Collector Car Show and Auction
(Tulsa, OK, May 10, 2004) – Leake Auction Company is pleased to announce the 32nd Annual Tulsa Collector Car Show and Auction. 600 collector cars will be offered at the auction. Expo Square, on the Tulsa State Fairgrounds, is home to this annual event scheduled for June 11th, 12th and 13th.
Classic cars dominate this event – more than at any national event in many years. The outstanding collection of “Mr. Mac” McGlumphy, a local Tulsa businessman, contains over 50 examples of world-class cars such as Rolls-Royce, Packard, Lincoln, Cadillac, Pierce Arrow and Auburn. Fifty-three of his outstanding automobiles will be offered at “No Reserve” to the public.
In addition to the McGlumphy collection, there are several cars rarely seen at auction, a 1925 Duesenberg and a 1928 Hudson. This year’s sale will include over 27 CCCA cars, Pebble Beach and Meadowbrook winners, as well as a National 1st Place CCCA winner.
For those interested in a higher paced ride, don’t miss the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder. With only 21,000 kms since new and number 51 of the genuine Daytona Spyders, this fine example will fulfill any fantasy.
Muscle cars include a rare 1971 Plymouth Hemi Roadrunner 2 door Hardtop, and ’61 and ’64 Chevy Corvettes, two ’68 Shelby GT Convertibles, one a 350 the other a 500, and lots more. The oldest vehicle currently consigned is a 1912 Ford Model T Depot Hack followed by a 1914 Cadillac Model 30 Touring – one of the Pebble Beach winners.
“The Tulsa auction ranks as the highest collector event this year. “Mr. Mac” had a quality eye towards investing and we look forward to selling this incredible collection at No Reserve, Sunday,” said Leake Auction President, Richard Sevenoaks.
The Tulsa Car Show and Auction kicks off at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 11th, and continues at 10:00 am Saturday and Sunday. The “Mr. Mac” collection will be sold No Reserve on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Leake Auction and Merrill Lynch will host a party from 7 to 9 pm on Friday night to benefit “A New Leaf.”
Consignments are still being accepted for the Tulsa auction. For more information on the event, call Leake at (800) 722-9942, visit their web site at www.leakecar.com, or e-mail: info@leakecar.com.
